Barclaycard premieres first on mobile

So top marks to Barclaycard for unveiling their last ad in the current series on mobile pre-rolls ahead of the TV debut. Just ahead, but ahead still the same.

The mobile campaign targets 02 customers and, for the first time, they will be selected by handset model. As the ad is for six months’ free gadget insurance, you can see how this mobile strategy has been arrived at. I would guess that those who watch may well be contacted in the near future by Barclaycard …

It’s not massively ground-breaking this one, or even that creative – the ad hasn’t been specifically shot for mobile – a unique version would be have been fun, or maybe even the opportunity to watch the rest of the story online providing some seamless channel experience, but hey, at least those 02 folks got to say ‘yeah, we saw it first’.
